Dr. Amineh Zadbood is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Data Science and
Analytics Master’s Program at Georgetown University. She has been an adjunct faculty
member at Stevens Institute of Technology since 2022, teaching graduate-level data
science and engineering economics courses. With a strong quantitative foundation in
applied mathematics, Dr. Zadbood brings deep expertise in data science, machine
learning, and mathematical modeling to the classroom.
Her research centers on developing computational tools to enhance the performance of
complex systems. In 2023, during her postdoctoral research at Stevens Institute of
Technology, she focused on developing an AI-powered tutoring system designed to
improve higher education. The innovative system utilizes large language models (LLMs)
to provide students with immediate, context-aware responses and explanations related
to course materials.
Dr. Zadbood earned her Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Stevens Institute of
Technology in 2022. Her interdisciplinary doctoral research concentrated on automobile
market systems. She developed a multidisciplinary agent-based modeling (ABM)
framework to help designers and producers optimize product design and forecast
consumer responses to new products. While pursuing her doctorate, she collaborated
with Con Edison to create a novel weekly scheduling optimization program. This
program automates and optimizes the assignment of maintenance workers to specific
work orders based on worker proficiency and job requirements.
With over five years of teaching experience, Dr. Zadbood consistently receives top
teaching evaluations and high student satisfaction ratings. She actively reviews for
academic journals and conferences, and her work has been published in high-impact
journals and presented at leading international venues. Dr. Zadbood is dedicated to
student advising and mentoring, and many of her students have successfully secured
positions as data science professionals in prominent industries.
