DSAN Student Yiming Chen Will Present at the Prestigious AERA Conference in April

We are proud to announce that DSAN student Yiming Chen (MS ’24) is the second DSAN student to be invited to present at the prestigious 2024 Annual Conference of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), one of the highest-ranked international conferences in the education field. Her Capstone research paper, “Identifying Robust Classifiers of Sequential Process Data in Adults’ Digital Literacy Tasks: A Machine Learning Approach” has been accepted into the Graduate Student Research-in-Progress Roundtable Series (RIPRS).

The purpose of her research is twofold: first, to find the combinations of two or three robust actions that are the most influential ones to distinguish correct or incorrect groups by using the n-grams method, taking the time variables into consideration, and second, to determine whether participants’ different general reading skill levels affect their sequences of actions, and therefore their combinations of robust actions.
