Discover the power of data in the Master of Science in Data Science & Analytics program at Georgetown University. Our curriculum focuses on the interdisciplinary nature of data and teaches skills you can use across sectors. With foundational knowledge of the field, you’ll drive lasting social impact in our rapidly evolving reality.

Core courses (15 Credits)

Pre-Program Bootcamp

We require an online course in programming preparation that covers R, Python and the command line. This course, equivalent to three credits, takes place during Georgetown’s summer session before you matriculate into the program in the fall. It is offered free of charge.

Concentrations

Choose a concentration to focus deeper on your area of interest. We offer five specialized tracks, including one generalist track if you want a more universal understanding of data and analytics.

Electives (15 credits)

You will take 15 credits of elective courses to fulfill whatever concentration track you choose. If you choose the generalist concentration, you can mix and match electives to meet your interests.

Study full-time or part-time to fit your schedule

You can enroll on either a full- or part-time basis. If you enroll full-time, you can complete the degree in as little as 16 months by taking three courses a semester for three semesters, and a summer course or four courses (with the approval of the Director of the program) in your last semester. If you enroll part-time, you can take up to three years to complete the program by taking one to two courses per semester, including summer courses.
