Why did you choose the DSAN program at Georgetown?
I chose the DSAN program at Georgetown because of its unique combination of academic rigor, interdisciplinary faculty, and location in Washington, D.C. The faculty’s diverse backgrounds (including computer science, mathematics, physics) create a rich learning environment that emphasizes both technical depth and real-world application. Georgetown’s reputation for excellence and the program’s thoughtfully designed coursework made it clear that this was a place where I would be challenged and supported.
Who had the greatest influence on your career path/education path?
The faculty at the United States Air Force Academy were incredible. They believed in me early on, encouraged me to pursue research opportunities, and created a supportive environment where I could grow intellectually and professionally. Their mentorship gave me the confidence to take on new challenges and helped shape both my academic interests and my commitment to service.
What is your favorite class in the DSAN program?
So far, my favorite class has been Data Visualization. I genuinely love working with graphs and exploring how data can tell compelling stories. The digital storytelling aspect of the course has been especially interesting. It’s one thing to analyze data, but learning how to communicate insights to a non-technical audience both clearly and impactfully is a powerful skill.

Any advice you’d give prospective students?
You truly get out what you put into this program. Push yourself beyond the minimum requirements. Dive into projects outside of class. Be the person who introduces yourself to everyone. Invite classmates to Tombs, join intramural sports, or start a study group. Some of the best parts of the program happen outside the classroom, and you might just meet your new best friends.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I refuse to stay out later than 9 pm, and some nights I’m in bed by 7:30. Early mornings are my favorite.

Favorite way to spend your free time?
Working out or playing sports with friends. I love the mix of competition and stress relief with the people I care about most.
If you could have any superpower what would it be, and why?
I would choose the ability to speak every language. Learning a second language already feels like unlocking an entirely new world. Being able to communicate with anyone, anywhere, would open the door to endless conversations.
