DSAN Welcome Events Offer Connection, Accolades, and Information

The M.S. in Data Science and Analytics (DSAN) ushered in a new academic year with brunch, scholarship awards, and a joyful welcome to our new students. 

We were thrilled to host our first and second-year students on the Mid Campus Terrace on Friday, August 19th, giving them a chance to reconnect with old friends and make new ones! The relationship between first and second-year students is an important one in our program, with our returning students often providing much-needed perspective, advice, and support to our new cohort. 

In service to cultivating a robust community within our program, we facilitate a robust mentorship program each year between our returning students and our new ones, and many new students had the chance to socialize with their mentors at our welcome brunch before the start of classes.

After brunch, our students headed next door to the Lohrfink Auditorium for the New Student Orientation where we provided our newest cohort with a comprehensive overview of the program and all we offer both in and outside the classroom.

We were also delighted to recognize our Returning Student Scholarship recipients during our orientation event on Friday. These scholarships are awarded on a highly competitive basis and challenge our students to work independently and with a high level of creative thinking. 

We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate our scholarship recipients and excited to welcome our DSAN 2022 Cohort to the community!!
